Privacy Policy
Effective September 1, 2026
1. Introduction
My Restaurant ("the App," "My Restaurant," "we," "us," or "the Developer") is a free restaurant management application designed to assist restaurants with point-of-sale operations, inventory management, purchasing, kitchen requisitions, stock audits, wastage management, menu and recipe management, shifts, and related activities.
The App is designed with a local-first architecture. Your restaurant information is stored locally on your device. The Developer does not operate a cloud database for your restaurant information and does not receive your restaurant records on Developer-operated servers.
The App does provide printing functionality. When you choose to print, the App may communicate directly with a compatible printer over your local network or Bluetooth connection.
2. Information You Enter Into the App
Depending on how you use My Restaurant, information stored locally may include:
Restaurant information
- Restaurant name
- Shop information
- Address
- Tax settings
- Currency settings
- Other configuration information
Products and inventory
- Product names
- Ingredients
- Stock quantities
- Units
- Purchase prices
- Costs
- Batch numbers
- Expiry dates
- Stock movements
- Wastage records
- Stock audit records
- Item and ingredient photos
Sales information
- Items sold
- Quantities
- Prices
- Discounts
- Taxes
- Payment methods
- Change amounts
- Sales totals
- Shift information
Employee information
- Employee names
- Roles
- Cashier assignments
- Permissions
Any other information you voluntarily enter into the App may be stored locally as part of your restaurant records.
3. Local Storage
My Restaurant is designed to store your restaurant records locally on your Android device.
The Developer does not operate a remote database for storing your restaurant records.
The Developer does not routinely receive, access, monitor, or review the information stored in your local application database.
Your restaurant information therefore remains under your control on your device, subject to the normal risks associated with local device storage.
4. Printing and Local Device Communication
My Restaurant provides printing functionality for compatible restaurant printers.
Printing may use:
- Local network/TCP printing
- Bluetooth printing
- Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication
When you explicitly initiate printing, the App may send the information required to produce the requested printout directly to the printer.
A printed receipt may contain information such as:
- Items purchased
- Quantities
- Prices
- Discounts
- Taxes
- Payment information
- Restaurant information
- Order totals
Network printing
The App may establish a TCP connection to a printer on your local network, including communication with the printer's standard TCP printing port. The Developer does not receive this information. Communication is between your device and the printer configured or selected by you.
Bluetooth printing
The App may use Bluetooth or Bluetooth Low Energy to discover, connect to, and communicate with a compatible printer. Information sent to a Bluetooth printer is transmitted for the purpose of producing the printout requested by you.
5. Android Permissions
My Restaurant requests certain Android permissions specifically to support its printing functionality.
No permissions are requested when the App is first opened. Each prompt below appears only at the moment you use the corresponding feature — for example, the Bluetooth prompts appear only when you start scanning for a printer.
INTERNET
The INTERNET permission is used to support network/TCP printing. It allows the App to establish a network connection to a compatible network printer, such as an ESC/POS-compatible printer, including printers communicating through the standard TCP printing port.
The INTERNET permission does not mean that your restaurant database is uploaded to the Developer or to a Developer-operated cloud server.
BLUETOOTH and BLUETOOTH_ADMIN
These are legacy Android Bluetooth permissions used on supported older Android versions. They are included only for compatibility with Bluetooth printing functionality on older Android versions.
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION
On older Android versions, Android required location permissions for certain Bluetooth/BLE scanning operations. My Restaurant uses these permissions, where applicable, solely to support Bluetooth/BLE printer discovery on supported older Android versions.
The App does not use these permissions to determine, track, record, or monitor your geographical location.
BLUETOOTH_SCAN
On newer Android versions, My Restaurant may use the BLUETOOTH_SCAN permission to discover compatible Bluetooth/BLE printers. The permission is declared with Android's neverForLocation designation.
The App does not use Bluetooth scanning to determine the user's geographical location.
BLUETOOTH_CONNECT
The BLUETOOTH_CONNECT permission is used to connect to compatible Bluetooth/BLE printers and communicate with them for printing.
It is not used for location tracking.
Photos (item & ingredient images)
When you attach a photo to a product or ingredient, the App opens the Android system photo picker to let you choose an image.
Because the App uses the system photo picker on modern Android versions, it does not declare or request the CAMERA permission or broad storage/media permissions to access your photos.
Backup files (export & import)
Exporting or importing a JSON backup uses Android's Storage Access Framework, which lets you pick a save or open location directly. This means the App does not declare or request a separate storage permission for backups.
6. No Location Tracking
Although certain Bluetooth-related permissions may historically contain the word "LOCATION" in their names, My Restaurant does not use these permissions to:
- Track your location
- Record your location
- Create a location history
- Monitor where you travel
- Determine your home address
- Sell location information
- Share location information with advertisers
7. No Developer Data Collection
The Developer does not intentionally collect your restaurant's operational information through the App.
The Developer does not operate a backend service to which your restaurant database is automatically uploaded.
The Developer does not sell, rent, trade, or commercially distribute your restaurant records.
The Developer does not intentionally send your restaurant records to:
- Advertisers
- Marketing companies
- Data brokers
- Other restaurants
- Competitors
- Analytics companies
- Third-party cloud databases
8. Printing Is Different From Cloud Data Collection
When you print something, information leaves the phone temporarily because it must be transmitted to the printer.
Local network
Phone → Local Network → Printer
Bluetooth
Phone → Bluetooth → Printer
This communication is initiated for the purpose of printing. It is not transmission to the Developer.
The Developer does not receive a copy of the printed information merely because you used the printing functionality.
9. No Remote Cloud Synchronization
Unless explicitly stated in a future version of the App, My Restaurant does not provide automatic cloud synchronization of your restaurant database.
Your local restaurant database is not automatically synchronized with a Developer-operated server.
10. Backups and Exported Data
If the App provides JSON backup/export functionality, you may create a copy of your restaurant data.
Once you export your data, you are responsible for the resulting file.
You may choose to send a backup to:
- Google Drive
- A computer
- Another phone
- External storage
- Another cloud service
After you transfer a backup outside the App, its handling is governed by the service or device to which you transferred it. The Developer cannot control or guarantee the privacy or security of such independently stored copies.
11. Device and Operating-System Services
Although the Developer does not operate a cloud database for My Restaurant, Android and your device manufacturer may provide their own services, including device backup, security, diagnostics, or other operating-system functionality.
Those services operate independently of the Developer and are governed by their respective policies and settings. The Developer cannot guarantee how Android, Google, your device manufacturer, or another third party handles information stored on your device.
12. Data Security
The App uses local storage for your restaurant information. However, no software or storage system can guarantee absolute security or permanent availability of data.
Your data security also depends on:
